وهذا الرأي ترجمة حرفية لما أبداه الخليل منذ عهد مبكر إذ قال: "والتفسرة: اسم للبول الذي ينظر فيه الأطباء، يستدل به على مرض البدن، وكل شيء يعرف به تفسير الشيء فهو التفسرة".
وكل هذه المعاني تدور حول البيان والاظهار والكشف، وهي معانٍ متقاربة.
